Germany: Ph.D. Position-Economic Modelling

A PhD position is available at the University of Bayreuth, Germany within the BMBF funded project Regional Economic Evaluation of Adaptation Measures in Agricultural, Forestry, and Bioenergy Production under the Influence of Climate Change (REGECON) for a period of three years.

The main objective of the research is to construct a regional economic model coupled with plant biophysical models to examine and evaluate the potential of bioenergy production in Bayreuth Bioenergy region of Germany under the influence of climate change.

Positive attributes for this application are:

1. M.Sc. Degree (or equivalent) in economics, agricultural economics or related disciplines.

2. Fluency in German and English

3. Certain knowledge of the programming language GAMS (General Algebraic Modelling System) and/or of statistics software (Stata, R, SPSS).

4. Interest in interdisciplinary research and in ecological sciences

5. High motivation to pursue academic goals and ability for teamwork.
