Open PostDoc or PhD Position on Information Extraction at the University of Mannheim
The Focus Area Web-based Systems (Prof. Christian Bizer) within the Research Group Data and Web Science at the University of Mannheim is offering a PhD or PostDoc position in the EU funded research project PlanetData.
The position has an initial duration of 13 months and is paid according to German salary scale (up to 2.500$ per months after taxes). An extension of the contract beyond the duration of the project is planned.
We seek candidates with a university degree (M.Sc. or equivalent) or PhD in computer science or related areas. For PhD candidates, the regulations of the University of Mannheim require at least a B level exam.
The successful candidate will work in the PlanetData project on topics such as:
- Information Extraction
- Data Cleaning
- Data Interlinking
- Large-scale Data Management
- Data Provisioning and Cataloging
Good programming skills and fluent English are required. Experience in project work is an advantage. For PostDocs, we expect a proven track record in at least one of the topics listed above.
