UAE: IRENA Scholarship Programme
In an effort to promote talented academics, and with the support of the Government of the United Arab Emirates, up to 20 IRENA Scholarships for the eight different Master of Science Programmes that are offered at Abu Dhabi based MASDAR Institute of Science and Technology will be awarded by IRENA.
MASDAR Institute, which was established with the cooperation of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), integrates theory and practice to encourage a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, and develop the critical thinkers and leaders of tomorrow. IRENA Scholars have the opportunity to follow advanced research projects relevant to renewable energies.
In addition to the regular full benefits, IRENA Scholars will be able to attend an exclusive Lecture Programme aimed at promoting and informing on the latest developments in the field of renewable energies.
With the two-year Master Programme students will have the opportunity to develop their skills in a unique environment and with a full fellowship. The application deadline is 31 May for the academic year 2012/2013, which will start in September 2012.
Special consideration will be given to applicants from developing countries in order to support countries that are severely affected by today’s overriding challenges: energy access, energy security and climate change.
